"Introvert" AND "Warm"?

I don't think it's particularly controversial to contemplate the fact that an Introvert could exude a Warm personality type - as a matter of fact, I count a number of those among close friends!   The real issue is that the word "Introvert" is all too often overloaded (or should I say abused?), and conflated with other traits , such as "aloof", "distant", "withdrawn". And that conflation can cause disturbing ambiguity on how to interpret a self-description of "Introvert".   In particular, for example in the context of shared housing, if I were to give a slogan, I'd say that I love "Introverts" but I do rather poorly with "Very Reserved" people .  I'd better define and clarify those terms! But let me backtrack first. One's Own Personal Music Collection : Growing and Curating it. Why and How!

Imagine there existed a way to get  pleasantly surprised , over and over and over again...  all day long...  every day of the year...  every year... Fantasy-land?  No, it's called my music collection on random play!  👀 My music collection, lovingly curated by me for over a decade, is now standing at 11,500 songs after an exciting series of additions over the years, and continuous paring down. My musical tastes are hugely eclectic, and from many genres, countries, languages, and periods. I appreciate a broad variety - EXCEPT American "country music" and rap (unless rap is in Russian, which is absolutely hilarious!) Not surprisingly, most songs that aren't instrumental, are in languages that I speak - "more or less" in some cases, lol - or that I would like to learn, namely English, Italian, French, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.  That's not a coincidence!  Some of those languages got me interested in learning them because of my bond wit...

Amazing (and sometimes little-known) Festivals in the San Francisco Bay Area!

[UPDATED APR. 2025]  A lot of my friends express amazement at the various festivals I take them to.  How do I know about them?  Some are obscure and yet absolutely incredible!  Well, it has been a process of exploration over the years...  All the photos here are casual snapshots or video stills taken by me. BEST FESTIVAL AWARD - The Greek Festival in the Oakland hills This festival brings out happiness, as evidenced by my friend Andrea In May .  The awesome views of the Bay from the top of the Oakland hills complement the yummy food, the dance shows, arts, crafts, clothing, jewelry, history, music, architecture, participatory folk dance, etc. The event takes place on a plaza surrounding a Greek Orthodox church; some of it is outdoors, and some indoors.  The admission fee is very modest ($6 , or $5 in advance.) The food tends to be a tad better on Saturday; if you go on Sunday, don't wait too late, because many food items run out....
